Composing Photos

As we are working through this study of digital photography and learning to use software to add digital effects to our pictures, I want you to remember that these pictures have to be well taken, interesting photos first. Once you have a photo that has interesting lines, colours, shapes, and a unique point of view, then you can crop and re size the photo to emphasize the subject. Remember to think about “thinking in thirds.” Only then should you start to wonder about appropriate effects that might be applied to the picture to make it more interesting. Take good photos first and then worry about what the software can do to make it even better.

Here are Kodak’s top 10 tips for taking better pictures.

Ugh, Fun Fun Fun. Haha just kidding. I think that digital photography is great! You learn how to take better pictures. My partner is Kate and we have been taking excellent pictures! I absolutly think that everyone should know about digital photography!

Hey Mr. Fisher! Me and Toni are doing a good job with our photography! Well, at least, I hope so, haha. Sometimes when I think we have a really good picture, it turns out it’s really blurry once we see it on the computer. I wish all of the cameras had screens, but oh well, the cameras still take pretty good pictures! I wish that any software could take pictures from our cameras at home. When you explained that your Mac took any pictures from any camera, for one I thought it was awesome, and for two I want a Mac even more now. Haha. I’m really enjoying this photography stuff! I REALLY like how you let us go on the computers instead of always doing worksheets and textbook stuff and what not; not a lot of teachers do that and I’ll really miss having you as a teacher in highschool. Bye!
