We are currently living in the midst of a snowstorm of nasty spam. Some of the students have had to turn off their comments and others are strictly restricting who can post and how strong the moderation controls are.
Hopefully, the spammers will soon find someone else to annoy and go away and we will be able to return to regular programming.

Yeah, I know exactly how you feel. I have had trouble with spam ever since I first created my blog, but recently it has been so bad that it put me off writing while it was still there! I have had hundreds of spam comments flood onto my blog each day, with many of them containing horrible things such as porn. It must be spammers day out because many people’s blogs I know of have been receiving a lot of spam lately. However, the issue seems to have been fixed a couple of days ago, as I have no new spam comments on my blog now.
